Update on Collection Procedures of Hanjin Containers


In response to the receivership of Hanjin Shipping, Hongkong International Terminals Limited (HIT) had set up a dedicated team to provide emergency services and offer assistance to affected parties to make alternative carriage arrangements.

HIT has so far helped affected parties to retrieve more than 3,100 Hanjin containers, with approximately 1,300 containers in yard awaiting handling. We will continue to offer this emergency service to our shippers and freight forwarders for another month until 31 October 2016. The collection procedures will remain unchanged. Please note that HIT Finance Department (HIT FIN) has resumed normal working hours. Further review on the procedures and terms will take place in due course.

    -Bank draft  or cheque payable to Hongkong International Terminals Limited shall be delivered in person
    -For bank draft or cheque received on or before 1600 hours, respective containers will be available for pickup after 1500 hours on the next working day
